SummaryOur company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance Team. This role will be an essential part of our finance operations, overseeing a wide range of accounting activities for a multinational financial services firm while driving team performance and financial efficiency. The ideal candidate possess strong fundamentals in accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement. A bachelor's degree in accounting is required, with prior management experience or a strong background in accounting or finance highly preferred.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs an Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee various accounting functions and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including:Accounts Payable Management
  • Oversee the timely entry of invoices and ensure that all accounts payable vendors are paid promptly
  • Verify that all expenses are appropriate, accurately coded to the correct GL accounts, and have been approved by the relevant department heads
  • Lead communication with vendors to resolve billing questions and concerns
  • Directly address invoice discrepancies and ensure proper documentation and resolution
  • Supervise month and year-end closing activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, prepaid monitoring and automation
  • Build, maintain and lead the fixed asset process
  • Manage payment schedules for recurring payments and ensure compliance with the established approval process
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, brokers, and cross-functional departments
  • Ensure accurate W-9 documentation and preparation for 1099 reporting
General Accounting & Reporting
  • Compile, analyze, and report financial information to senior leadership.
  • Supervise fixed assets reporting and scheduling to ensure proper tracking and compliance.
  • Manage ad-hoc projects, collaborating with the IT team on new accounting system implementations and system updates.
  • Work closely with FP&A to conduct in-depth analysis of departmental expenses, identifying trends, monitoring variances, and recommending actions to improve financial performance and reduce costs.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of three accounts payable professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to staff to improve skills and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and smooth financial operations across the company.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in web-based accounting software - prior experience with Intacct and/or Concur preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • A desire for process and ability to build and hold others accountable to the processes created
The base salary for this role can range from $105,000 to $120,000 based on a full-time work schedule.
