Position Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, reconciliation of statements, and preparation of payments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and smooth daily operations of the dealership's accounting functions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices for proper documentation.
  • Enter invoice data into the dealership management system (DMS) and ensure correct general ledger coding.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to inquiries regarding payment status.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues promptly.
  • Assist with month-end closing by ensuring all invoices and payments are posted properly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper invoice approvals and expense classifications.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist with other accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role, preferably in an automotive dealership environment.
  • Familiarity with dealership accounting systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
