Department: Accounting Position: Accounting Clerk Reports To: Director of Accounting Position Summary: Provides clerical support to the Accounting Department by performing a variety of tasks, including data entry into the accounting (mainly accounts payable) & payroll software. Responsible for general cashier duties, including preparation of weekly bank deposit and preparation of weekly change order and bank replenishment. These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
- Enters and posts invoices into M3 Accounting Core module
- Matches Purchase Orders to Vendor Invoices and assembles backup
- Performs weekly check run; prepares for mailing and maintains vendor files.
- Pulls the backup for credit cards for disputes and guest billing inquiries.
- Performs verification of weekly bi-weekly payroll data from ADP time-clock software and makes necessary corrections for submission to payroll service provider
- Counts cashier drops, enters into accountability spreadsheet and prepares weekly bank deposit.
- Recycles change and replenishes cashier banks on a weekly basis.
- Reconciles Vault to G/L on a monthly basis.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must have intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), financial software and databases.
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting
- Basis accounting knowledge desirable, with Accounts Payable experience, and prior experience working with cash
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate initiative, be a team player with integrity
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of Hotel and Food & Beverage Operations is desirable but not required.
- High school diploma, Associates Degree minimum desired.
