Job Description:Job DescriptionIn this role you will compute, classify, record, and verifies data for accuracy. Examples of Duties:
- Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Computes, validates and records charges, taxes, refunds, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
- Prepares and reviews checks for accurate remittance information.
- Create ad hoc payees and payments when necessary.
- Provides suppliers with supporting documentations for electronic payments, ACH.
- Monitors accounts payable electronic mailboxes to ensure timely payments.
- Resolves supplier invoice discrepancies with the departments and or suppliers.
- Verify purchase orders on invoices are correct prior to processing in Workday.
- Validates supplier invoice requests entries for accuracy.
- Maintains accounts payable electronic files.
- Answers phone calls to assist with various payment transactions.
- Creates and maintains spreadsheets to be loaded into Workday.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute by touch.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Workday software helpful.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
