This position performs high-level accounting functions for the TCSO with little supervision. The incumbent is expected to develop computerized accounting reports and queries. They will run and research TCSO compliance reports for collections and delinquencies, oversee TCSO cash flow, and facilitate fund transfers to courts, TCSO departments, other agencies, and the public. Additionally, they will assist the TCSO Business Manager.
- Reconciles trust fund accounts, cash bond accounts, petty cash, fines, and fees; resolves reconciliation issues and prepares reports.
- Processes daily receipts, prepares deposits, and reports for cash bonds, fines, and fees.
- Assists customers and courts with cash bond processes and reconciliation issues.
- Answers phone calls and addresses or refers inquiries as needed.
- Supports the Business Manager with special requests and reporting.
- Generates, reviews, and processes adjustments on receivables and collectibles.
- Follows up with law enforcement agencies to move funds to court and process cash bond returns.
- Coordinates and processes travel expenses for TCSO employees, ensuring accuracy and proper funding.
- Maintains reports to ensure compliance with policies and laws.
- Handles purchase requisitions, graphics orders, towing expenses, and inventories, ensuring proper funding.
- Processes refunds, manages NTTA toll tags, and handles bond collateral funds.
- Coordinates expungements with the Records Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent required; Bachelors preferred.
- At least three (3) years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, law enforcement, or related fields; law enforcement experience preferred.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing; mainframe experience is a plus.
- Strong mathematical skills required.
- Knowledge of budget management and purchasing procedures.
