This role plays a key part in managing close processes, maintaining internal controls, and supporting cross-functional initiatives. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Accounting and serves as a critical partner in driving operational efficiency and compliance across the organization.Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting team's daily operations, including supervising staff and senior accountants to ensure timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
  • Review and approve financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure smooth operation
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of trial balances and consolidated financial statements
  • Ensure all necessary accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries are recorded
  • Maintain detailed checklists to track the progress of closing tasks
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Partner with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Operations, IT, and HR to support budgeting and forecasting with accurate accounting data
  • Ensure seamless integration of accounting systems with operational workflows
  • Train and develop team members by identifying growth opportunities and providing regular feedback
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, automating tasks, and enhancing system capabilities
Essential Job Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree required and MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience and 2+ years of training experience and skill development of other team members.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Effectively delegate tasks while maintaining oversight of overall team performance.
  • Ensure all financial reports are accurate, timely, and comply with applicable accounting standards.
  • Proactively address operational inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the department.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Communicate key accounting insights to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated mastery in all MS Office programs.
