Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting an Accounting Manager for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.

The Accounting Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization's financial reporting. This role involves managing accounting functions, developing financial policies, supervising a team of finance professionals, and collaborating with senior management to drive strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare and oversee the production of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
• Assist in audits, including liaising with external auditors and resolving audit findings.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations.

Accounting Operations

• Lead and oversee general ledger functions, including accounts payable, lease accounting and fixed assets.
• Establish and maintain efficient accounting processes and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
• Monitor local banking activities.
• Understanding of intercompany transactions.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate team performance and provide training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Other

• Support the Corporate Controller in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
• Manage the organization sales / use tax exposure

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.

• Experience in a midsize manufacturing / distribution entity with heavy external reporting requirements.
• Leadership and team-building abilities.

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
