The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Full Time Accounting Manager. Summary: The Accounting Manager plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of Glen Oaks Club. This position assists the CFO in managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of information. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of working collaboratively across departments to support the Club's strategic and operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, cash flow tracking, and treasury oversight.
- Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support budget preparation and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads
- Maintain accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts
- Prepare and review journal entries and ensure proper classification of income and expenses
- Assist in the coordination of annual financial statement audits and tax return preparation with external auditors and tax advisors
- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to financial policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and club industry accounting standards
- Assist CFO in cash flow analysis, capital project tracking, and board reporting
- Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a private club, hospitality, or nonprofit environments
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with club or hospitality accounting software (e.g., Jonas) is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
