Description
As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee core financial operations and contribute to strategic decision-making. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency across the organization.
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Own the Financials: Prepare accurate, timely monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Mastery: Manage, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts: post journal entries and accruals for a clean month-end close.
Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Optimize Operations: Identify opportunities to streamline daily accounting tasks and month-end processes using technology and best practices.
- Insurance Support: Assist in managing insurance programs and risk assessments in coordination with the Senior Accounting Manager.
Inventory & Fixed Asset Management
- Inventory Expertise: Serve as the accounting lead for inventory—reconciling ledgers, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity.
- Asset Oversight: Record fixed asset activity, manage depreciation schedules, and maintain up-to-date fixed asset records.
Compliance & Tax
- Tax Accuracy: Prepare and file sales and use tax reports to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Year-End Close: Support the annual close process, including 1099 preparation and compliance reporting.
Financial Systems & Support
- Chart of Accounts Maintenance: Keep the chart of accounts aligned with business needs for accurate reporting.
- Customer Credit Review: Evaluate Customer Incident Reports (CIRs) and process timely credit memos to support financial and customer service goals.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related field) with 5 years of experience, ideally in manufacturing or inventory-heavy industries.
- Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in every number you touch.
- Tech-Savvy Mindset: Familiar with accounting systems and always looking for smarter ways to work.
- Curiosity & Drive: You ask the why, dig into problems, and pursue solutions with energy.
- Leadership: You're comfortable taking initiative and influencing cross-functional partners.
