Role Description:

The Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting, analysis, and compliance for our Retail, Wholesale, and Ecommerce businesses. This role involves collaborating with outside CPAs for quarterly and annual financial reporting, conducting P&L projections, managing month-end closing, and assisting with budget forecasting. The manager will handle IRS/Tax requirements, report financials to landlords, and supervise the Accounting Assistant(s) in managing accounts payable, receivable, cash flow, and payroll processing. Additionally, the role includes reconciling inventory discrepancies, monitoring movement reports, and managing employee benefits. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software are essential for ensuring financial integrity and supporting business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting

o Work with outside CPA for quarterly and annual financial reporting / corporate tax return processing.

o Financial analysis and P&L projections for Retail, Wholesale and Ecommerce businesses.

o Month End Closing and reporting to our global headquarters in Hong Kong.

o Assist in monthly forecasting and actualizing of operating budgets by working closely with senior management.

o Manage and be the key person to handle and resolve IRS/Tax requirements and any reporting issues.

o Be the key person to report monthly/annual financials to our retail location landlords as necessary.

• Day to Day

o Work closely with Accounting Assistant(s) to oversee and manage AP, AR, cash flow and expense reports.

o Analyze AP and AR to propose better systems for both areas.

o Oversee Accounting Assistant on Sales Journal reconciliation from retail stores.

o Cash reconciliation with our bank accounts on a daily / weekly basis. Reporting and investigating any discrepancies to produce final results.

o Process payroll for Corporate and Stores using Trinet system.

o Work with retail management to create protocol for cash management and sales reporting from the retail stores to ensure efficient processing, reconciliation and closing in the accounting area.

o Work with operation team to investigate and reconcile inventory quantity and cost discrepancies on a monthly, quarterly, seasonal and annual basis.

o Manage and reconcile shipment invoices with Operations Manager and Buyer

o Monitor inventory movement reports using QuickBooks and Shopify system.

o Supervise, train and coach Accounting Assistant(s).

o Recruit seasonal intern and oversee the accounting internship program.

o Manage and record cost of employee benefits/deductions (i.e. transit check program, medical insurance, cell phone reimbursement program)

o Admin work related to HR – i.e. new hire entries into Trinet system with new hire paperwork

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required; accounting majors highly preferred.

• 3-6 years experience in accounting required; accounting for the fashion industry highly preferred, with wholesale and retail experience.

• Must be tech-savvy and a fast learner.

• Must be proficient in MS office with especially strong Excel skills.

• Knowledge of Shopify a huge plus.

• Must demonstrate passion and natural ability in numbers.

• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.

• Must have an independent, positive, can-do attitude and a great sense of urgency.

• Experience working with overseas accounting/finance/HR teams is a huge plus.

• Must be a self-starter, proactive and willing to take initiative.

• Must be extremely detail oriented especially when it comes to numbers.

• Must be a strategic thinker and have exceptional problem solving skills.

• Must know QuickBooks. Knowledge of wholesale accounting systems
