The Accounting Manager is directly responsible for supervising, mentoring, and leading accounting staff while overseeing accounting department daily operations, including accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting as well as associated analysis and reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities
Ensures the company maintains compliance with accounting policySupervisory skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, train, coach, evaluate performance, and lead a staff in a fast-paced environmentAssists staff members in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting reportsCollaborates with internal and external auditors, as required, in their research of recordsReviews accounting procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracyPerforms reconciliations of general ledger accountsAnalyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practicesTrains new hires and evaluates performancePerforms other related duties as assignedAssists external/internal auditors and provides required statements and information for the auditMaintains a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresMaintains end of month checklistIdentifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and proceduresEducation & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration requiredFive years or more of related experience requiredAn understanding of General Accounting PrinciplesProven experience working as an Accounting SupervisorStrong management and leadership skillsDetail-orientedInternal and External audit experienceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to process large amounts of numerical dataMust be proficient in Microsoft Office ProductsPay and Recognition:
