Responsible to manage all the financial functions of the Accounting Department at Seven Oaks Country Club, Inc. providing financial information and reports about all club financial activities that will assist the Board of Directors, management, its shareholder and other users in making educated economic and fiscally prudent decisions about the Club's future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, depreciation schedule, payroll and monthly and annual budgets.
  • Prepare for and assist the external auditor in the year-end financial examination of the Club.
  • Manage the accounting activities for the complete integration of all accounting issues and services including accurate and timely financial statements production, member and event billing and budget management.
  • Oversee all activities of the account payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee all processes in the monthly preparation of inventories of the food and beverage operation and Golf Pro Shop merchandise.
  • Gain a thorough understanding and knowledge of the Point of Sale System for food and beverage and the Golf Pro Shop retail system including the ability to input menu and Golf Prof Shop merchandise items and trouble shoot when necessary.
  • Handle the activities of accounts receivable to ensure the accurate and timely application of cash receipts, member statement billing, set up of new members accounts, monitoring of member accounts receivable aging, monitoring of annual food and beverage minimum, quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports and disbursement and budget management.
  • Manage corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income and payroll tax returns.
  • Respond to CFO and Director of Operations as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as required or requested.
  • Communicate with co-workers, Director of Operations, members, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Attend quarterly Board of Director meetings
  • Create monthly cashflow reports and monitor the cash flow and capital expenditure needs of the Club.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking.
  • Very computer friendly -- spreadsheet proficient (hardware and software).
  • Contract negotiation a plus.
  • Strong managerial skills. Ability to work effectively with a small staff.
  • Strong communication skills. Be able to communicate effectively with senior executives, Board Members, and staff.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Spreadsheet package (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Latest computer technology and working knowledge of Club's programs and systems.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification a plus.
  • Must have at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Must have 3 or more years of management experience.
