ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a hard-working, highly motivated Accounting Manager to join the Subscription Accounting team! You will play a key role in the Accounting and Finance department during a dynamic period of high growth and process transformation. In this role, you will be responsible for taking ownership of various workstreams within the controllership organization, with a focus on global subscription revenue. This includes all-access, app, and rental subscription revenue streams, as well as our B2B, partnership, and studio revenue streams.The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, external reporting processes, and internal controls, as well as a thorough understanding of Peloton's multifaceted business.   • Play an important role in the month-end financial statement close process by reviewing journal entries, assisting Staff and Senior Accountants, keeping team priorities on track, and working with various business partners throughout the organization to acquire relevant information and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
  • Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants on a monthly basis
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with GAAP principles
  • Review existing systems and processes to assist in the identification of improvement opportunities with a focus on standardization and optimization, especially the reduction of manual, Excel-based activities
  • Continuously improve month-end close processes and financial reporting to help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities
  • Partner with FP&A and Data Science in order to perform monthly analytics and understand the key drivers and variances to prior period actuals as well as budget/forecast
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and troubleshoot issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Take ownership of the internal controls for your respective areas by continually reassessing and updating process flowcharts and control activities as needed
  • Contribute to special projects and ERP enhancements on an ad hoc basis as requested
  • Support the year-end financial statement audit, as well as any statutory audits that may arise
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a mix of private and public accounting experience preferred
  • Education and/or comparable professional experience in Accounting or related field
  • Active CPA license in good standing
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm and/or SEC-registered company
  • Experience in a dynamic, high growth organization
  • Proven track record managing and developing the careers of direct reports
  • Must be a highly organized, meticulous self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Able to work effectively with all levels of an organization and manage relationships with both internal and external parties
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills - must be comfortable analyzing and manipulating large data sets
  • Experience with Alteryx and NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with the interpretation and application of ASC 606 is a plus
  • Industry experience in a SaaS-based technology company is a plus
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
