If so, please continue reading to learn more about this Accounting Manager II with the Controller's Office of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NC DPS).This Accounting Manager II will serve as Assistant Controller in the financial management and operation of Disaster Funds for the Department of Public Safety. Position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the financial operations of Disaster Grant Accounting; Payroll Allocations, Disaster Grant Financial Reporting; Accounts Payables for Disasters; and other special funds, Credit Card receipts and compliance, preparation of year-end financial statements (ACFR), EAGLE (Internal Control Assessment), sub-recipient monitoring and Fiscal Policy and Procedure in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.Two Accounting Manager positions report directly to this Assistant Controller. Indirectly there are eleven positions (Accounting Specialist and Accountants) with a dotted line to one shared Accountant III position.The employee in this position is expected to have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives from related agencies, departmental staff, and the general public; and have the ability to verify accounting documents and clearly communicating findings in both oral and written forms.About the NC DPS Controller's Office and Disaster Grants SectionController's Office ensures that all department financial resources and funds are received, disbursed, recorded, and accounted for in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Department policy and procedures. The Controller's Office at the agency level has oversight responsibility of this department and is accountable to the office of the State Controller for the integrity of that data.The objective of the Disaster Grants section is to ensure fiscal accountability of the use of funds awarded to the agency from various sources. This includes but is not limited to compliance, interpreting, and applying federal regulations, cash management and reporting of expenditures. The agency receives federal grants, cooperative agreements, state grants, and private grants.This position is full time (40 hours per week) TIME-LIMITED with State Benefits for a limited duration of time (with the potential to extend up to 36months).
