Summary:

The Accounting Manager, in conjunction with the Director of Accounting and Controller, is responsible for the operations of the Accounting Department, particularly as it relates to Franchise operations, including oversight of franchise audits, collections, cash receipts, and accounts receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain collection processes that reduce the number of delinquent payers in the franchise system.
  • Responsible for collection of annual financial statements from franchisees and summarization of information for the franchise disclosure document.
  • Develop, maintain, and conduct uniform audits of campgrounds, as required, to detect material errors, make recommendations and follow-up and collect monies owed from findings.
  • Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned.
  • Ability to supervise 1-2 employees.
  • Assists with processing and analyzing expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment and ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Assists in preparing supporting schedules for external auditors and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Prepares monthly accounting for gift card company.
  • Prepares monthly accounting for 2% advertising fund and provides assistance with annual audit requests.
  • Reviews accounting documents and performs research. Resolves discrepancies as necessary.
  • Assist with the setting up bank transfers and wires.
  • Assists in preparation of Quarterly Financial Statements.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
  • Assist Controller with month end closing.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related business discipline
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls
  • 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5 years supervisory experience
  • Experience using QuickBooks

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods as well as standing and walking
  • Use hands to operate computer peripherals and fine motor skills.
