Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of accounting staff. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
