Join us in contributing to the responsible development of the chocolate world.Valrhona U.S. is seeking an accounting/collections coordinator, based in New York City, who can provide financial and administrative services to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. Responsible for collection efforts on past-due/delinquent accounts.MAIN FUNCTIONS/DUTIES :
- Deposit and process payments in bank account, apply them in SAP and follow up on payment deductions.
- Perform weekly reconciliation of Online Sales and monthly reconciliation of L'Ecole Sales.
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment. Handle collection efforts for delinquent accounts by contacting customers, either in writing or by phone, and looking for payment solutions/arranging payment plans. Ensures appropriate personnel (sales, business development, marketing) are aware of account status.
- Prepare/update monthly Customer At Risk, Sales Tax and end-month closing reports
- Perform month-end bank reconciliation for all money received.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Training: Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience: At least two years of experience in accounts receivable
- Travel requirements: minimum, possibly once or twice per year
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (advance formulas, graphs, pivot tables, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all assigned deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge SAP or QuickBooks a huge plus (but not required)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent communications skills - written and verbal
- Tact and negotiation skills needed for collections work
- Strong phone skills
