Reports to: Superintendent of Schools
Qualifications: - College graduate (not necessary but recommended or experience)
- Health and T.B. Certificate on file in the Central Office, Background Check (after employment offer is made).
- Accounting experience.
- School district experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computer usage, as well as various office machines, telecommunications equipment and personal computers.
- Knowledge of all accounting procedures
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
General Responsibilities: - Essential Functions:
- All Accounts Receivable.
- Fund and Bank reconciliation
- Federal programs
- Ability to ensure financial activities conform to District guidelines.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the District staff and community.
- Ability to react to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
- Ability to appropriately operate all equipment as required.
- Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires prolonged standing, sitting, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
- General Responsibilities:
- Ability to direct financial accounting of receipts and expenses. Accounts Receivables.
- Reconciliation of bank statements.
- Ability to assist in preparation of annual budget.
- Ability to assist and provide information to auditors for annual audit and state audits.
- Ability to prepare 1099s
- Investments
- Journal Entries
- Title Grant Reporting, Periodic Grant Reporting
- Expenditure Reporting
- Ability to be responsible for internal charts and updates in budgetary accounting software, Powerschool.
- Ability to maintain all income and expenditure records for school district funds.
- Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
- Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
- Ability to keep personnel information and records confidential.
- Ability to serve in a responsible, honest, and trustworthy capacity.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated on an annual basis in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff.
Payment rate: Salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education based on experience.
