Full-time Accounting Associate About the Position We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Full-time Accounting Associate to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Payable, a solid understanding of US GAAP, and proficiency in accounting software. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the overall financial operations of our organization. Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements
- Prepare and process payment batches
- Maintain vendor files and records
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and handle vendor inquiries
- Assist in month-end closing procedures related to Accounts Payable
- General Accounting Tasks:
- Assist in preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Help with financial reporting and analysis
- Participate in audit preparation and support external auditors
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
- US GAAP Compliance:
- Ensure all accounting activities adhere to US GAAP standards
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments
- Assist in preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Support the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
- Software and Systems:
- Utilize accounting software for daily tasks and reporting
- Maintain and update financial databases
- Assist in implementing and optimizing accounting software and tools
- Generate reports and analyze data using various software applications
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other members of the finance team and cross-functional departments
- Communicate effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external partners
- Prepare and present financial information to management as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Accounts Payable
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
