Recruiting Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support a local client in Florence. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Excel skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. - Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile, process, file and pay Sales Tax
- Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and spreadsheets
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Enter and verify financial transactions in accounting software
- Generate reports and analyze data using advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
- Ability to cross train in other office departments.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools)
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
