This position plays a key role in managing the full accounting cycle, producing financial reports, and analyzing cost drivers to support strategic decision-making. Working closely with company leadership, the individual will ensure accurate financial records, monitor production costs, and maintain cash flow forecasts. This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a small, fast-paced business setting.

MAIN FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and analyze production costs — including raw materials, labor, and output — to support cost efficiency and margin improvement
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on cost drivers and operational KPIs
  • Maintain dynamic cash flow forecasting and rolling financial projections
  • Produce and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis and deliver actionable insights to leadership
  • Support inventory management processes, valuation, and cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) tracking
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accuracy of financial records
  • Collaborate with operations and purchasing to align costs with production needs and business goals
  • Assist with payroll data preparation and benefits tracking
  • Recommend and implement improvements to internal controls, processes, and reporting systems

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting and/or FP&A experience (manufacturing or agribusiness preferred)
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory tracking. Experience managing month-end close and producing complete financial statements. Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and basic ERP/accounting systems.
  • Comfortable working independently in a small-business environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • Preferred experience: Familiarity with standard costing or job costing. Exposure to payroll systems or HRIS tools. Experience with agricultural commodities, inputs, or seasonal production cycles.
