Job Title: Accounting Analyst Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team at Ground Up International. This pivotal role will support business leaders by providing critical accounting insights that drive both strategic and tactical decisions. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Month End Close process, maintaining the General Ledger, and contributing to financial reporting and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of accounting experience, a strong understanding of GAAP, and exposure to core accounting functions such as P&L, AP/AR, and journal entry preparation. Additionally, they will work cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Design, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Production, Partner Success, and HR by helping to optimize accounting processes and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Business & Accounting Operations:
  • Lead and support the month end close process
  • Prepare and review accurate journal entries as needed
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
  • Review and analyze balance sheet accounts
  • Review, understand and update as needed Cash flow statements and the P&L
  • Assist with billing, chargeback support, and royalty analysis
  • Prepare and present financial reports (BI, KPI) to key stakeholders
  • Communicate insights clearly to support decision-making
  • Provide quarterly and monthly reports as the business evolves
  • Monitor accounts receivable, vendor expenses, and banking indicators
  • Support banking, tax reporting, and other accounting operations as needed
Process Improvement & Compliance:
  • Enhance Accounting processes for efficiency and compliance
  • Implement best practices and ensure adherence to GAAP
  • Collaborate with 3rd part accounting to support month end procedures
  • Provide Accounting expertise and guidance as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 2-3 years of experience in Accounting positions
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Familiar with BI tools, financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey Accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and still meet deadline
