We are in search of an Accounting Analyst I or Accounting Analyst II to join our Controllers department in Rocklin, California. This full-time position reports to the Director, Corporate Accounting and is responsible for preparing and analyzing expense report data and serves as the administrator to AgWest's accounts payable system. In addition, it assists with corporate expense reporting and provides support for advanced Accounts Payable functions.
After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% or 60% of the time depending on location.
Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position in Rocklin, California is:
Level I: Typical starting range: $67,700 - $90,400 Full base salary range: $67,700 - $101,600 Annual performance-based incentive target is 8% of base.
Level II: Typical starting range: $73,900 - $99,200 Full base salary range: $73,900 - $111,800 Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.
Job Requirements
- Assist in the development and monitoring of Concur Expense Administration including setting up and maintaining user profiles in Concur; updating expense approvers; and distributing reports to association staff as needed.
- Prepare monthly expense reports for executive leadership, including the CEO and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure proper coding, approval, and policy compliance for submitted expenses.
- Maintain and update employee expense authority listings on SharePoint.
- Prepare or review account reconciliations as assigned.
- Serve as a backup for fixed asset accounting processes and ensure alignment with company policy.
- Serve as a backup for invoice review and approval routes.
- Assist with internal and external audits by gathering, organizing, and providing requested documentation.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to fulfill audit requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of audit deliverables.
- Contribute to an accurate and timely month-end closing of financial records.
- Provide technical guidance and research on accountable matters related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory guidance; work with others within the organization to ensure proper accounting and reporting methods are followed.
- Participate in various accounting projects within the department.
- Prepare key spreadsheets and reports for compliance purposes as requested.
- Perform back-up functions as needed to help ensure adequate segregation of duties and comply with internal controls.
- Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Concur or similar expense management platforms
- Generally, requires three or more years' relevant work experience
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable processes and fixed assets
- Ability to think critically and facilitate resolution to problems or escalate appropriately
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written

- Experience with accounting software systems
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees, including executive leadership
