Location: Altru Health System PO Box 6002Grand Forks, ND 58201 Pay Range: $60,715.20 - $91,083.20 Summary: The Accountant II manages intermediate to complex accounting tasks with a strong grasp of accounting principles and practices to support the organization's financial operations and decision-making. Responsibilities include preparing, auditing, and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and maintaining financial software and systems. This role also involves assisting with financial audits, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis. The Accountant II leads specialized projects as needed and contributes to the preparation of financial statements and other operational reports. Monday - Friday 40 hours per week (occasionally more during audit/year end). Core hours between 7 am-6 pm, Central Time Essential Job Functions: Prepares journal entries with supporting schedules, reviews interface transactions from subsidiary systems and makes adjustments as appropriate. Oversees financial systems and ensuring accuracy in recording transactions. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial processes and streamline accounting procedures and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy. Reviews monthly operational results with leadership, makes additional entries as requested, and explains variance from budget. Assists departments and leadership to gather financial information, resolve advanced issues, and support organizational initiatives. Initiates month-end general ledger close process for Altru and Affiliates. Reconciles general ledger accounts with subsidiary ledgers and reports monthly. Assists in prepare financial statements, presentations, and reports as requested by leadership, bondholders, and external auditing firms. Assists in the preparation and coordination of audits and provide necessary documentation in a timely manner. Monitors development of internal control procedures to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy in financial processes. Monitors compliance with regulatory agencies and relevant accounting standards. Researches as needed and assists with implementation of accounting standards. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. #Altru Education: •Required: Bachelors - Accounting- OR -Bachelors - Finance Work Experience: •Required: A minimum of 3 years Related Experience Language Requirements: This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
