MJ Kane & Co. Accountants are currently looking for an Accountant to join our ever-expanding in-house department.

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant for our company.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the preparation and submission of accounts, CT, and VAT. They should be capable of working independently and have a thorough understanding of the UK taxation system and financial regulations.

You will play a pivotal role in managing a section of our accounting department, being supported by a team of staff, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tax returns for circa 200 limited companies. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact and client relationship manager for these 200 clients.

Responsibilities:

• Review and submit annual financial statements and accounts in compliance with statutory obligations and deadlines to HMRC.
• Manage and coordinate monthly reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of CT and VAT returns to HMRC and Companies House.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of the company to handle any tax-related inquiries or issues.
• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.
• Conduct continuous analysis of financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provide strategic advice to management on tax planning and implications of business decisions.

Desired Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of the UK taxation system, especially regarding CT and VAT regulations.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage and Xero.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• If not qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, we would be seeking at least 10+ Years of experience in practice with extensive knowledge of the UK taxation system, especially regarding CT and VAT regulations.
• Otherwise, we would be seeking a candidate with:
• Qualified membership in a professional body like ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in practice accounting and taxation.
