Full Job Description
We are a full-service accounting, tax, financial, bookkeeping and payroll firm looking for an Accountant. Assisting in the preparation of tax returns, financial statements and reporting are a large part of the accountant's day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of supporting tax and financial statement workpapers
- Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns (will train)
- Working with clients to handle all their accounting and tax issues
- Tax planning for individuals and businesses
Skills
- Great attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment, with strict deadlines
- Excellent organizing skills, respond to inquiries and address concerns in a timely manner
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system, proficiency in Excel and MS Word.
- BS/BA in accounting
