Description Summary: Responsible for analyzing and reporting financial activities of a large Homeowners Association/Not for Profit Corporation. Specializing in financial reporting, fund accounting, and accounts payable. Adept at managing complex general ledger functions, streamlining month-end close processes, and providing actionable financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Skill Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university or commensurate experience. Property management work experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Ability to perform with minimum supervision and make decisions independently. Strong communication and analytic skills. Detailed oriented with multiple tasks and information organization. Basic understanding of Fund Accounting and a not for profit organization preferred Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • High proficiency in Microsoft Windows software, especially Excel with Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets
Duties and Responsibilities: • Accounts Payable using Avid Xchange • Prepare monthly financial statements • Review/test accounts receivable activities (i.e. potential assessments) • Review cash activities (i.e. review outstanding checks, reconciling items) • Prepare accrual entries and maintain backup schedules (i.e. accrued interest, prepaid expenses, deferred assessments) • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts. • Assist management with annual budget. • At year end, close out financial statements, code the new budget, and enter budget spreads into the system • Monitor investments, cash balances and cash adequacy • Analyze and confer with managers regarding notable financial matters and variances. • Work with Charter Clubs on annual financial reporting. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor • P r o v i de exc e l l ent c us t o m er ser v i ce a nd m a i n t a i n open l i nes of c o mm un i c a t i on w i t h f e l l ow associates and homeowners, including answering calls regarding assessments, late fees, etc. • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Physical Requirements - Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary on rare occasion to meet deadlines
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
- Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 15 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
- This position will involve working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to work in small and confined spaces for extended periods of time.
- Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
