Rooted in the community and committed to long-term relationships, the company combines deep local knowledge with a track record of strategic growth and hands-on service.Position OverviewWe are seeking a full-time, in-house Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the companys financial operations and support our continued growth. This role will handle all aspects of accounting, payroll, and financial management, as well as certain human resources and benefits administration functions. Our current accountant is relocating but will remain available to provide thorough training to ensure a smooth transitionthough the sooner the right person starts, the better.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the companys financial accounts, payroll, budgets, cash receipts, and financial assets.Oversee transactions, debt schedules, cash flow forecasting, and personal financial statements.Set up new tenants in QuickBooks, manage lease escalations, terminations, and past due balances.Review Closing Statement HUDs for accuracy; record purchases and sales journals in QuickBooks.Record receipts from various income streams and remit sales tax to Alabama and Florida.Manage human resources and employee benefits, including enrollments and ongoing administration.Prepare and issue 1099s to contractors and vendors, W-2s to employees, and ensure payroll taxes and quarterly reports are filed accurately and on time.QualificationsProven experience in a managerial accounting or bookkeeping role.Strong QuickBooks Desktop Experience Required.Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field preferred; will consider Associates degree with extensive relevant experience.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to accuracy.Work EnvironmentWe are a close-knit, family-oriented team that values collaboration, trust, and enjoying our work.
