Job DescriptionHow will you make an impact? This highly motivated candidate will assist the Finance Director, Corneal Health, with costing processes, inventory reconciliations, physical inventory, and general accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant supports various month-end and quarter-end activities and assists with audits when necessary. This position will be focused on manufacturing operations and will interact with multiple departments. Good working relationships with all levels within the organization will be a priority. Team player who is willing to assist in all areas to meet deadlines and achieve goals. Good communication, problem solving and attention to detail is required. What will you do? Finance:
  • Various monthly and quarterly journal entry creation and processing
  • Various financial schedule creation/maintenance.
  • GL account reconciliations and uploads into tracking software.
  • Assist with quarterly and yearend audit review requests
  • Monthly prepaids, PO tracking and supplier reconciliation
  • GL coding and processing of specific supplier invoices.
  • Various other tasks and reporting as needed.
Inventory:
  • Research inventory variances from outside warehouses to Oracle quantities. Propose and create corrections and adjusting journals where needed.
  • Assist in work order closing and analysis of job variances.
  • Monitor and analyse monthly inventory balance for Corneal Health organizations.
  • Assist and coordinate onsite and supplier physical inventory counts.
  • Prepare quarterly E&O analysis for review.
  • Monitor inventory expirations and coordinate with supply chain the timely destruction and removal of inventory in Oracle.
  • Accounting for outside material movements at Contract Manufactures with supply chain operations.
  • Monitor and review changes to inventory items in Oracle.
  • Help create inventory improvement processes.
  • Assist Finance team with special projects as needed.
Costing:
  • Weekly/monthly review of purchase price variances and standard COGS activity. Prepare journals as needed
  • Assist Finance Director in gathering information used in updating the annual standard costs for Corneal Health in Oracle.
  • Review manufactured items for proposed changes in work definition labor times.
  • Work with supply chain/quality to provide cost savings reports and key monthly metrics
  • Assist in compiling labor and overhead costs for analysis in generating annual labor/overhead rates for Oracle.
  • Update costs for new items
  • Participate in Oracle costing improvements.
How will you get here?
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience in accounting field.
  • Understanding of general accounting including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Good communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong experience with pivots and data management
  • Oracle experience a plus
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be extremely detail orientated and have strong verbal and written skills
  • Understanding of Inventory related financial transactions and reporting
  • Ability to safeguard confidential information
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work within firm deadlines
  • Bachelor's Degree required
