Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.Essential FunctionsServes as Business Office Account TechnicianReviews purchase authorizations, vouchers, invoices, and billing summaries for completeness, propriety, and accuracy to ensure compliance with rules and regulations promulgated by state and external regulating agencies, as well as internal policies and procedures and contractual agreementsServes as liaison with vendors, providers, and other appropriate parties regarding payment status of vouchers and adjusted voucher amountsPrepares detailed worksheets, schedules, and reports used in the analysis of specific amounts and specific account codes or sub-codesMaintains obligation bookPerforms other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated aboveMinimum QualificationsRequires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course OR three years of related bookkeeping experiencePreferred QualificationsPrefers 2 years of experience in an office setting utilizing strong computer skills, particularly in mainframe accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and WordPrefers 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of accounting techniquesPrefers 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of state or non-state accounting proceduresPrefers 2 years of experience in an office setting utilizing working knowledge of office methods and proceduresConditions of EmploymentRequires ability to pass a background checkAbout The AgencyDCFS is deeply committed to the welfare and protection of children.
