Job Summary The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for an Account Clerk II for the District Financial Services department of the Business Services division. Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical accounting-clerical tasks of average difficulty involved in maintaining, compiling, verifying financial, payroll, payment or statistical records, and auditing financial transactions for compliance with applicable codes, laws, and regulations. The current vacancy is in the District Payroll Services team and is responsible for handling garnishments for our school districts. They will serve as a liaison between garnishment agencies and school districts. They will need to communicate effectively, maintain garnishment balances, audit payment history, reconcile discrepancies, among other tasks. They also will work on other tasks related to payroll processing. ABOUT DISTRICT FINANCIAL SERVICES The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) provides business support services for all school districts and charter schools in San Diego County, serving as a financial hub for the collection, processing, and dissemination of all fiscal, budgetary, and related statistical information and reports for K-12 school districts within the county. In addition to serving in an advisory role for school districts, SDCOE offers training on a variety of school business issues and computer systems. Special emphasis is given to small school districts with limited business office staff.
