Salary Range: $5,540.00 per month to $7,893.00 per month.Note: The starting salary depends on qualifications and experience, anticipated to be between $5,540.00 and $6,716.00 per month. About The Position: Review begins June 6, 2025. The Accessibility Services Counselor evaluates disability documentation, determines eligibility for accommodations, provides counseling, advocacy, and manages disability and Title IX related modifications for students with disabilities, including pregnant students and those recovering from childbirth.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess student documentation to establish eligibility for services.
  • Determine appropriate accommodations based on functional limitations and course requirements.
  • Communicate decisions empathetically and collaborate with students to find suitable alternatives.
  • Provide disability management counseling and facilitate referrals to campus and external resources.
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff to implement accommodations effectively.
  • Handle student complaints and mediate conflicts related to accommodations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all interactions.
  • Conduct site visits to assess onsite accommodation needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff to maintain student files.

Title IX Modifications:

  • Act as Title IX Coordinator designee for modifications related to pregnant students and those recovering from childbirth.
  • Determine reasonable modifications within legal and policy frameworks.
  • Coordinate with faculty and administrators to ensure proper implementation.
  • Document all related interactions.

Other Duties: Policy review, professional development, and participation in university events.

Special Conditions: Responsible for campus security reporting as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a four-year college in a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • At least three years of professional student services experience, with one year in the relevant program area preferred. A Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for experience.

Knowledge and Abilities: Principles of behavior, counseling techniques, legal knowledge related to disabilities and Title IX, conflict resolution, and effective communication skills.

Preferred Skills: Master's degree, excellent communication, independent work capability, assessment interpretation, familiarity with assistive technology, and ability to work evenings/weekends.

Conditions of Employment: Background checks required; includes criminal, credential, and reference verification.
