  • The Academic Guidance Counselor will work closely with Administration to provide acadmic guidance and counseling services while working cooperatively with parents, teachers, the College and Career Counselor, and support personnel.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates administration, scoring, and interpretation state assessments
  • Coordinates distribution, collection, and interpretation of group tests in the areas of ability, competency, and vocational interest
  • Assists administration in the development of the master schedule
  • Schedules students into appropriate classes
  • Maintains student class and school records, including but not limited to, course and grade earned, grade point average, class rank, attendance, etc.
  • Certifies eligibility for graduation
  • Coordinates distribution of scholarship information and encourages and assists students with scholarship applications
  • Communicates regularly with students experiencing academic difficulties
  • Maintains and submites required program records and reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with local college/career counselors to organize, develop and implement local career events, job fairs, and college fairs

Education
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Masters Degree preferred.
Certification
  • Certification/License
  • Indiana State Certification as a School Counselor
