Academic Advisor Job no: 495094 Work type: Staff Full-Time Location: New Orleans, LA Categories: Advising and Retention, Academic Affairs College: DCC Department: Academic Affairs Sub department: Advising and Retention Type of Appointment: Full time - Regular Duties and Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic and career advising to students regarding course selection, degree planning, registration, and academic progress. Assist students in developing realistic academic goals and educational plans aligned with their career interests. Monitor student academic performance and provide early intervention for students needing additional support. Advise students on institutional policies, catalog requirements, academic standing, and transfer or graduation requirements. Provide students with semester plans and assist with goal setting. Document advising sessions and refer students to other supportive services on and off campus.
