Academic Advisor - Mississippi Valley State University : Job Details

S employed in the Academic Advising Center under University College are responsible for providing intrusive academic advising services to freshman students with 29 hours or less, sophomore students with 30-60 hours, and undeclared majors. Academic Advisors also assist students in developing an academic plan to ensure they remain on track as per their academic major curriculum pattern and assist students in connecting with appropriate campus resources. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions - : Provide an intentional and intrusive approach to academic advising for a caseload of students classified as freshmen or sophomore. Ensure that students are prepared to officially declare their major at the end of their freshman year. Evaluate students academic records (i.e., ACT/ SAT scores, high school or college transcripts, placement tests, etc.) to determine placement into appropriate courses.
