We are accepting applications for the Academic Accommodations Center (AAC)(formerly DSPS) Counselor Adjunct Applicant Pool. Adjunct pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Please review application material requirements carefully to ensure successful submission. Your application will not be considered until all required documents are received.The faculty assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college faculty locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in the Academic Accommodations Center (AAC). Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Academic Accommodations Center Adjunct Applicant Pool.We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration into the Applicant Pool. When no review date is listed for an Adjunct Instructor position, the position is open until filled. Your application will not be considered until all required documents have been received.Service

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in CounselingOR - Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling;OR -Master's degree in Counseling, Guidance Counseling, Student Personnel, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Education Counseling, Social Work, Career Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, Marriage, Family and Child Counseling,OR - Bachelor's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT);AND - Either fifteen or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically related to people with disabilities,OR -Completion of six semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) Program or in a program dealing predominantly or exclusively with people with disabilities,OR -Two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent in one or more of the following:(A) Counseling for students with disabilities; or(B) Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent.Please note:

Conditions of EmploymentAssignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour. Current detailed resume summarizing education and experience.

Two (2) letters of professional reference. One formal, signed teaching evaluation may be substituted for one (1) letter of reference.

Each document must be dated within the last five years and have an original signature (fancy font type signatures are not acceptable).

Complete College transcripts verifying educational degree(s) and/or coursework required for the position. Unofficial or copies of transcripts may be submitted for application purposes (please include both the front and back of ALL transcript pages); however, official transcripts must be submitted at the time of hiring.
