This position is eligible for insurance benefits, the retirement plan, Holiday Pay, and will accrue Vacation and Sick Leave. Library Service Associates are front-line staff, providing excellent direct customer service to the public. Tasks include assisting with the checkout of materials, issuing library cards, providing technology assistance, recommending materials to customers, promoting library programs and online resources, assisting with the access and use of library resources, and processing payments on customer accounts. This position will be expected to prepare and present storytimes to children and babies. Scheduled work hours will be assigned and could be during any of the following times: 9 a.m. to 8:05 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11:05 a.m. to 6:05 p.m. Sunday. Schedules will vary week-to-week and this position will be required to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Evenings and weekends are assigned quarterly, but it is not unusual to work two evenings a week and two weekends a month. While all positions are assigned to a primary branch or service unit, staff may be assigned to work at any branch location. Hours may be assigned at multiple branches in a single workday.
