We are seeking experienced mechanics to maintain and repair our fleet of garbage trucks, handling everything from hydraulic systems to electrical and engine repairs. Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engine chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, and cooling systems.
  • Inspect equipment and trucks for operational condition, checking parts and fluid levels as well as differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.
  • Utilize your knowledge of hydraulics to conduct repairs.
  • Use vehicle computer electronics to diagnose issues and initiate necessary repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment and vehicles.
  • Complete required documentation through our fleet maintenance software, including parts usage and repair times.
  • Review and address repairs noted in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain and uphold a clean, safe work area that complies with workplace and OSHA standards.
  • Follow safety protocols while working on vehicles and effectively communicate repair needs and tasks.
  • Engage in physical activities; the role often requires heavy lifting and moving of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work in varied environments, sometimes indoors in a shop, or outdoors repairing trucks. Our facilities are generally well-lit and ventilated, yet some tasks may involve working in tight or awkward positions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in diesel mechanics.
  • Personal tools are required for this role; experience in welding and fabrication is a significant advantage.
  • ASE Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
