This is a part-time, unarmed security position supporting the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) located at Port Hueneme, CA. The role requires adaptability, flexibility, dependability, and willingness to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

• Perform internal and perimeter foot patrols on the ship, including hourly equipment meter readings.
• Conduct security patrols to detect or prevent unauthorized or harmful activities.
• Report emergencies and unusual activity, maintaining a high visibility presence.
• Ensure only authorized personnel access the ship.
• Respond to injuries and coordinate assistance as needed.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No criminal record and able to pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license and own transportation.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures, communicate effectively in English, and complete detailed reports.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years security experience.

• Ability to climb shipboard ladders.
• May need to support underway operations.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pass a USCG physical exam.

Hourly rate: $20.32. In Ventura County, additional Health & Welfare benefits of $5.36/hour apply, with paid time off and holiday payouts based on hours worked.
