DescriptionPosition Title: Site ManagerReports To: Director of Public EducationPosition Overview:The Site Manager is responsible for providing leadership for and management of the school. This includes short and long-term planning; budgeting, scheduling, and promoting the school; hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating all school staff; evaluating teachers, utilizing the state-mandated Texas Teacher and Evaluation Support System (T-TESS); supervising the curriculum and instruction of all programs; and overseeing the STAAR program including ensuring that all teachers are trained, and the state tests are conducted lawfully. The Site Manager is also responsible for creating and maintaining a positive relationship with the CEO or Directors of the residential or psychiatric facilities throughout their assigned region. They are responsible for the implementation of all federal and state regulations concerning both general and special education.Essential Functions & Skills:Working experience with at-risk/ED youth desired.Working knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to both general and special education.Understanding of student populations in his/her schoolPositive behavioral management techniquesExcellent oral and written communication skillsOutstanding organizational and interpersonal skillsStrong leadership abilitiesAbility to prioritize when faced with multiple responsibilities/tasksAbility to consistently meet timelines/deadlinesAbility to meet responsibilities with a minimum of direct supervisionDepth of understanding of curriculum and instruction, with the ability to model for teachersAbility to create an attractive physical environment and a culture of achievementAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectivenessAbility to maintain complete confidentialityAbility to maintain a current Texas driver's license, with an excellent driving recordResponsibilities and Duties: Review teacher lesson plans to ensure accommodations and/or modifications for differences in student learning styles, integration of technology, and teaching to state standards.Provide appropriate instructional strategies and activities, as well as maintain an attractive physical environment.Provide staff with the materials and equipment needed to meet student needs.Supervise the formal and informal testing programChair all Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings, or arrange for another qualified administrator to substitute.Serve as a role model for students and staff in language, dress, and behavior.Model appropriate positive behavioral intervention techniques for staffMaintain student and staff safetyCreate and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, and community membersEnriching job skills through professional development activitiesStay current with and abide by state and charter regulations and policiesComplete all reports, records, and other required documents promptlyEnsure that all staff are appropriately licensed/certified; have received all federal, state, and district-mandated trainingConduct regular staff faculty meetings and provide needed trainingConduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable by the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.Develop campus budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control. Accurately report fiscal information.Interview, select, and orient new staff. Approve all personnel assigned to the campus.Observe performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences with staff.Work with campus-level planning and decision-making committees to plan professional development activities.Other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Maintain emotional control under stressWork with frequent interruptionsOccasional district-wide travelFrequent prolonged and irregular hoursSitting, standing, lifting, and carrying (up to 25 pounds with assistance), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, and kneeling may be required.Qualifications:MinimumBachelor's degree in EducationWorking knowledge of minimum standards of Texas Charter SchoolsA minimum of 3 years' experience as a classroom teacher Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, coaching, or leadership experience Experience with school readiness goals, curriculum implementation, and student assessment tools Knowledge of inclusive practices for children with disabilities and dual-language learners Willingness to obtain TTESS Certification within one (1) year of hirePreferredMaster's degree from an accredited college or universityTexas Principal Certification or willing to obtain within two (2) years of hireTTESS certificationFive (5) or more years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a leadership, coaching, or supervisory role.The foregoing statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title.
