Minimum of High School Degree, Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with running after school and/or summer programs. Ability to collaborate well with and effectively manage all program staff, parents, participating students and community resources. Exhibits knowledge of NJSLS, best practices, data analysis and current trends in education. Demonstrates skills in communication, organization, flexibility and technology. Grant management and/or writing experience Required criminal history background check REPORTS TO:Superintendent JOB TASKS:
Assumes a leadership role in improving children's chances for achieving their maximum academic and social potential Coordinates and attends all meetings, functions and trainings as required by the grant. Completes all required reports and maintains paperwork consistently, appropriately and in a timely manner as required by the grant. Develops a schedule that is appropriate and equitable so the objectives of the program will be achieved. Makes ongoing classroom/site visitations as appropriate and necessary to be able to perform the duties of the 21st CCLC Program Director. Supports staff development in content knowledge and resources about learning and teaching academics-including: - Teaching strategies
- assessment techniques
- interpretation of assessment results;
- program routines; and
- practices that promote achievement.
Supports after school educators with the resources to implement challenging and rigorous curriculum based on the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, as well as grant required program components. Participates in professional development activities to build capacity as a resource for the school and program. Prepares material for the use of all appropriate staff. Works in partnership to improve school-wide achievement. Exemplifies collegial behavior and a commitment to teamwork. Presents a courteous and professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy. Performs other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification as may be assigned and/or deemed necessary by administration TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months plus additional days during summer break as necessary to fulfill the grant requirements. The employee's hours will be flexible throughout the day so that the program coordinator is on site during the hours of program operation.
