Position Summary

Join Walmart|VIZIO and advance your career! VIZIO's Technology – Software and Services team seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the HTML5 App platform team. This team maintains and enhances the platform that supports hundreds of third-party apps on Vizio TVs, which constitute a significant portion of user viewing hours. The role involves fixing bugs, managing technical debt, and developing new features. You will be part of a dedicated 8–10-person engineering team reporting to the Engineering Manager. This is an individual contributor position based in Dallas, TX, with an in-office requirement five days a week.

What you'll do
  • Requirement and Scoping Analysis: Understand business objectives, classify requirements, conduct risk and cost analysis, and develop user stories.
  • Coding: Follow coding standards, develop using languages like C++, JavaScript, Python, and frameworks/tools such as Chromium, Linux Shell, and development platforms like Azure and iOS.
  • Testing: Prepare and execute test cases, utilize tools like Selenium and Jira, and perform root cause analysis and code coverage assessments.
  • Program Monitoring: Track project metrics, report progress, and ensure adherence to milestones via CI/CD practices.
  • Defect Management: Track, analyze, and resolve defects, perform regression testing, and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • DevOps Orientation: Manage application monitoring, debugging, and system performance, ensuring security and compliance.
  • Leadership and Compliance: Demonstrate expertise, provide guidance, and uphold company policies and ethical standards.
  • Customer Service: Focus on delivering value to customers, adopting a holistic approach considering data analytics and customer insights.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field plus 2 years of software engineering experience.

    Option 2: 4 years of relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with creating accessible digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and inclusive design practices.
