International School of Portland is hiring for 2024 Summer Camp!We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Seasonal full time Spanish Immersion- Teacher Assistants to join our team. Our teachers and teacher assistants come from around the world and are passionate about making language learning fun through hands-on activities, songs, games, outdoor fun, and cultural connections. Learn more about our camp at .DATES 2024:Language Immersion Teacher Assistants may work in one, two, or all three sessions.
  • Session 1 - June 24 - July 5, 2024 (No camp on July 4)
  • Session 2 - July 08 - 19, 2024
  • Session 3 - July 22 - August 02, 2024
(All teacher Assistants must participate in training in May and/or June. When feasible, all trainings will be held virtually)HOURS: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-FridayPAY RATE:Teacher Assistant (Returning or Assistant II) $20.00Teacher Assistant (New or Assistant I) $19.00CAMP TUITION DISCOUNT: Camp staff receive a discount off of Summer Camp enrollment fees for eligible childrenGeneral SummaryA full-time seasonal position reporting to the Summer Camp Director, the Teacher's Assistant works as a member of a classroom team consisting of the language immersion teacher, teacher's aide, and floating aide. The Teacher's Assistant is an integral part of the campers' day and the teacher's success. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting Lead teachers in supervising campers in the classroom, on the playground, on field trips, and with specialist teachers; communicating with families and camp director; assisting with special events; and supporting the Lead teacher by enforcing class rules, helping distribute materials, and assisting with teaching, when appropriate.Qualifications:
  • Eligible to work in the USA
  • Demonstrate fluency in Spanish
  • At least 3 months experience working with children, preferably in a camp or school setting

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, responsibility, and a passion for teaching young language learners
