TheAirborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Software Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OHOffice.This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploycutting edge, next generation solutions.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

  • Design, develop andmaintainmission-critical software in support of national defense, and intelligence gathering products for both airborne andground-basedsystems

  • Participate in laboratory, ground and flight testing tovalidatesoftware

  • Document and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast paced highly technical environment

  • Stayup to dateonstate-of-the-artprogramming techniques and software technologies

  • Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skillsets

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree and4-8years of prior relevant experience or aMaster'sdegree with2-4years of experience insoftware engineering, computer engineering or related field.Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C++, Java,Python

  • Experienced in systems integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex system problems

  • Experience working in a SIL environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally from informal one-on-one discussions or in a small group environment.

  • Work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task)

  • Strong desireto grow and learnnew technologies.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintaina top-secret security clearance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban

  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket

  • Experience with model and simulation environments to support simulation and test

  • Experience with Live and Virtual Constructive environments to understand complex systems and troubleshooting points for integration

  • Familiarity with DoD Open Architectures such as OMS and SOSA

  • Experiencewith containerization technologies such as docker orpodman

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience developing and deploying to offline environments

  • Strong understanding of Linux systems

  • Experience with Unit Testing and CI/CD

  • Strong understanding of IP based network protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP

  • Prior experience working with the DoD

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
