Position

Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Operations will serve as a building leader, supporting the Principal with all non-instructional school needs. They will lead all aspects of school operations, including safety, talent management and development, administration, building readiness, events and trip management, compliance, procurement, food and transportation services, student recruitment, school schedules, and the student information database.

Responsibilities
  • Management and Leadership: Manage a team of school operations professionals in overseeing all logistics areas of operations; serve as a core member of the DREAM School Leadership Team and be responsible for ensuring high levels of operational excellence every day; identify, communicate, and plan operational priorities for the school; create and execute on training, onboarding, and development plans; provide coaching and feedback to operations coordinators and managers.
  • Office Management: Manage the cleanliness and organization of the operations office; ensure a welcoming and customer service environment; provide support, resources, and answers to questions from families as needed.
  • Student Recruitment: Collaborate with the Network Director of Student Recruitment to oversee student recruitment, enrollment and lottery processes to meet annual recruitment goals; oversee outreach and communication to prospective and accepted families; plan and execute logistics for student recruitment events including weekend and after-hours events.
  • Inventory Management: Develop procurement processes, inventory systems, and staff order expectations; ensure supplies are inventoried regularly.
  • Facilities Management: Collaborate with the Network Facilities Team to address facilities issues promptly; conduct regular walkthroughs; develop systems to uphold aesthetics standards with staff.
  • Systems & Processes: Develop and implement school-wide systems and procedures to ensure operational excellence (Transportation, Safety, School Lunch Program, procurement, compliance tracking, arrival, late pickup, lunch and recess, and related processes); manage school-wide systems to support arrival, dismissal, and attendance; identify areas for improvement and lead or support special projects.
  • Fiscal Management: Support the Principal with managing the school budget, including procurement and tracking expenses; create and implement systems to track expenses and ensure budget goals are met.
  • Administration: Liaise with network office staff to oversee assessment, attendance, and school compliance; manage liaison with food services, IT, facilities, maintenance, nursing and emergency procedures, and security.
  • Event & Trip Management: Oversee logistics, planning, and implementation of team-wide events, including professional development sessions, team-building events, and organization-wide occasions.
  • Assessment Administration: Oversee operations in receiving, inventorying, securing, and distributing all paper assessments; prepare assessment materials for distribution; coordinate pickup and drop-off of state exams and electronic assessments; monitor testing environments and ensure procedures are followed; manage testing materials, scoring, and data roll-up; create alternative schedules during testing; coordinate facilities, meals, and outsourced staff meals; liaise with NEST for assessment guidelines; handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum three years of school operations experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated project management experience

Compensation
  • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience with a potential for annual performance-based increases. The incoming salary range for this position is $110,000 to $126,000 per year. New hires are typically brought in closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications, internal equity, and budget. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases. We do not currently cap salary ranges.
