POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager – Civil/Structural Design, and working in the Plant Engineering Group, this position applies technical knowledge, insight, reasoning, and decision making to perform civil structural analyses and design of Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Uses structural engineering tools and implements appropriate standards to design Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures including post-processing analytical results and designing structures for various material types (concrete, steel, etc).Interacts with other disciplines and structural engineering consultants to coordinate design activities and resolve technical problems. General knowledge of related fields is preferred for effective teamwork.Helps develop and review requirements documents, methodology documents, calculations, specifications, design reports, and studies.Possesses strong written and oral communication skills and interacts routinely with contractors and regulatory bodies.Performs other duties as assigned.Core Competencies

Minimum Skills, Qualifications And Abilities
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; advanced degree preferred. PE license strongly preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years in structural design engineering. Relevant experience includes design and analysis of concrete and steel structures, using software, and familiarity with codes like ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, etc.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of design software, finite element analysis, and optionally programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python).
- Other: Good organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to manage complex projects. Must be eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.
