Position Description:

The Senior Business Analyst is a contract role serving as a technical lead responsible for examining current business processes and integrating new data analytics solutions that enhance Department of Homeland Security (DHS) US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Global Trade Investigations (GTI)' capabilities in identifying, disrupting, and prosecuting violations of U.S. import and export laws. This role involves identifying more efficient open-source intelligence (OSINT) methodologies and conducting comprehensive analysis on counterproliferation and intellectual property matters to support federal law enforcement investigations.

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Clearance: Public Trust

Responsibilities include:

  • Examining current business processes and developing innovative solutions to generate higher-quality investigative leads
  • Developing end-to-end data solutions from requirements gathering to implementation
  • Creating automated reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools for decision-making
  • Supporting open-source intelligence analysis on national security matters
  • Extracting insights from large data volumes and communicating findings
  • Training and leading Data Analysts in investigative techniques
  • Collaborating with project teams to meet analytical needs
  • Mining and scraping data from web sources, performing ETL processes
  • Conducting social media exploitation and network analysis
  • Analyzing data patterns to identify high-risk areas
  • Developing summaries and evaluations to support operational and intelligence gaps closure
  • Documenting workflows and SOPs for OSINT processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • At least 5 years' experience developing data solutions end-to-end
  • At least 5 years' experience creating automated reports and dashboards
  • At least 4 years' experience in open-source intelligence data support
  • At least 4 years' experience in web data mining and ETL processes
  • At least 4 years' experience in social media analysis
  • At least 3 years' experience in data analysis including trend and link analysis
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Kibana)
  • Knowledge of machine learning and pattern recognition
  • Understanding of DHS or ICE data systems
  • Experience with AWS, JIRA, and ICE/HSI platforms
  • Knowledge of U.S. export controls and IP enforcement
  • Experience with law enforcement sensitive information
