The Role

We're looking for a Senior PHP Developer with strong experience in Laravel, AWS, and ideally React or modern front-end frameworks. You'll help us build, maintain, and improve mission-critical systems, including our bespoke CRM and customer-facing platforms.

You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers in Agile squads to deliver high-quality, scalable code that drives real value for both our team and customers.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys ownership, values clean code and performance, and wants to help shape a modern tech culture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PHP applications using Laravel
• Enhance and support our bespoke CRM and core customer platforms
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA in Agile teams to deliver features from concept to deployment
• Implement and manage AWS services for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to front-end development (React or similar), where applicable
• Write clean, well-tested code with strong documentation and reusable components
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers as needed
• Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in PHP (Laravel), ideally in a senior-level role
• Solid experience working with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
• Understanding of front-end technologies (React, Vue, or similar) is desirable
• Familiarity with REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Git workflows
• Comfortable working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for writing efficient, scalable code
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD tools and containerisation (Docker)
• Exposure to modern JavaScript tooling and frameworks
• Familiarity with security and compliance in regulated sectors (e.g. financial services, insurance, legal tech)
• Previous experience mentoring developers or leading technical projects
