Learning and Development Training Manager

Reed HR has [partnered with a fantastic company who has an exciting opportunity which has arisen for a Learning and Development Training Manager to take the strategic lead for operational training, ensuring that training materials and team members are fully equipped to support business excellence. This role involves leading a team of trainers and continuously developing training strategies and systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and support a team of trainers, focusing on the operational aspects of the business to ensure all personnel are trained and competent.
  • Create, update, and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they meet legislative requirements and are effectively implemented.
  • Conduct thorough inductions for all new recruits, ensuring they are engaged and well-integrated from day one.
  • Collaborate with various functions to ensure SOPs comply with current legislation.
  • Maintain and update the Learning & Development (L&D) system regularly.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, enabling career progression within the business.
  • Provide ongoing support and development for the training team, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience as a trainer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in a training management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experienced in managing training systems and processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the changing demands of the business.
  • Experience with training systems or Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms.
  • Strong ability to engage and inspire employees through effective training delivery.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and various training software/tools.
  • Health and safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH) is desirable.
