About the Role

This is an excellent entry point into the world of legal risk and compliance. As a Conflicts Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping the firm assess potential conflicts of interest when taking on new work - an essential process to ensure we act with integrity and meet our professional obligations. You'll be fully supported in developing your legal skills and commercial awareness, while working closely with legal teams across the firm.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and validating information submitted via the firm's Conflicts Request Form
• Conducting research using online tools and internal databases to help identify any potential conflicts of interest
• Analysing results and liaising with solicitors and other legal staff to clarify details where needed
• Assisting in the set-up and maintenance of ethical walls (information barriers)
• Supporting the wider Risk & Compliance team on research tasks and process improvement projects
• Helping raise awareness of conflict policies and processes across the firm

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A 2:1 degree (or equivalent) - legal or non-legal disciplines welcome
• An interest in the legal industry and a desire to learn how law firms operate
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
• A positive attitude, with the confidence to ask questions and engage with colleagues at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A willingness to learn about professional rules around conflicts, confidentiality, and disclosure (you'll receive full training)

Prior experience in a professional services environment or understanding of SRA rules is beneficial, but not essential.
